Short films have exploded in the last five years and have become a crucial marketing and messaging tool for companies. No one should ignore the power of You Tube - it's a simple and cost-effective method of communicating to potentially thousands and thousands of people globally.

My strength is in high-quality programme making. Many start-up companies are emerging to produce corporate films but not all have the experience and discipline that can only be acquired through working with some of the world's best programme makers. I believe corporate films should not compromise on quality ... but this doesn't mean blowing the budget.

This is a new and exciting expansion to my portfolio. I will provide my first three clients with an exceptional deal in return for a feature on this website.

What will I deliver? 

 Telling a good story
Story telling is easy, telling it quickly whilst giving your audience a pleasurable journey, requires skill & talent. I have the industry know-how to provide powerful short films.
 
Professional interviews
I will make sure your interviewees give their very best performance. Being in front of camera can be intimidating - but it shouldn't be. I'm a highly experienced interviewer and acutely perceptive to people's character and strengths. I've teased out remarkable stories from high profile celebrities to scientists sitting in front of the camera for the first time. I also offer interview coaching.
 
An eye for the unusual
Quite often the best footage or narrative stories come from the unexpected. Animal behaviour is unpredictable (as are people!) and wildlife film-makers are particularly well-trained in looking for the unexpected.
 
A highly experienced team
I regularly work with the same BAFTA & EMMY award-winning teams that produced BBC PLANET EARTH & WILD CHINA, and can bring these teams to your corporate videos or commercials. Depending on the nature of your brief, I can put together a team made of camera crews, editors, graphic designers, composers with BBC/Channel 4 experience, or I can self-shoot produce, direct and edit low-budget films in a few days.
 
Technical know-how
I have experience of filming on 35mm film and hi-definition. I can shoot time-lapses and lapse-time sequences, tracking motion-control and have experience with the Cinebule helicopter gyro-stabilisation system. I am also a BBC-trained self-shooting director.

Environmental communicator
Environmental film makers and understand the complexity of environmental messaging. I have a PHd in Zoology and interviewed the world's leading scientists on topical issues such as climate change, habitat loss, economics and trade. I am able to conduct background research for your film and you can be rest assured that it's done with factual accuracy and professionalism. I'm one of the few top-end wildlife filmmakers who also has experience in producing drama. Combining this skill-set gives me a unique advantage for moving into corporate film-making. Not only do I have the contacts and expertise to tackle complex issues for environmental companies, I also have the ability to direct people and tell a story.

Understanding your business
I also have a background in making historical films and drama - everything from chess to steam trains! No subject is beyond my ability to turn into film. Sometimes, it takes an outsider to see a company in a new light and to ensure that fresh audiences understand you. I am able to quickly understand an organisation's goals and business strengths and translate them to film. I have a flexible, on-call consultancy team of management consultants and development advisors.
 
Consultancy/scriptwriting
I am available for scriptwriting, script editing, and consultation. I have written scripts for the BBC and National Geographic.

Ethical credentials

A green footprint

Carbon off-settting isn't the solution, but it is something we can all do when travel really turns out to be a necessity. I will always strive to take the low carbon travel option where possible and promise to offset my carbon footprint generated for your project.

Putting back into the community

 I fully appreciate just how hard community groups work with little funds. I will do my upmost to offer community groups favourable rates.
